In this study, I designed a mechanism which is feeding granules to the extruder. I used PLC to control step motor and PID temperature control. As you see that in below picture. I designed a screw and barrel. The screw will be used to feed granules to the extruder. But, I should control the flow rate of granules. For this condition, I programmed PLC which is Mitsubishi FX3U 32 MT. For HMI ( Human Machine Interface), I used DOP series of Delta hmi. After I programmed these devices, It is so easy to control the system.
After this technical procedures, I had an experiment to determine the flow rate of granules. For this, I measured 10 times with determined conditions which are given in below. Experiments showed me my feeder mechanism can feed 15 kg/h in 70 rpm. And its maximum capacity is 21 kg/h. At the last, It is working suitably on my 3D printer.
